I am a CSW relocated to the SF Bay area from Atlanta, and looking forward to buy a house in Napa. I did manage an specialty wine store in Atlanta for almost two years and now looking for a job in the Napa, SF Bay area. Any leads are welcome. Already applying to a lot of jobs in WineJobs.com.

Thanks,

Hi -- to add to my page (I'm a new member) -- I'm also interested in learning more about the science of making wines. Can any suggest a means by which I can educate myself on this subject through the OWC or associated organizations?

Michael, my congratulations on your achievement...well, on both your achievements.

Hope to see you in Sacramento (if not sooner).

Just received my CWE certificate in the mail. I'm so happy. It was a milestone that I started before my WSET Diploma and finished in September. It's nice to finally achieve it.

Who here will be attending the annual conference in July? I am planning on going.

Joe, the intent to get more webbed up and interactive is there. However, it's a cautious slow go. The admin. is working diligently on improving our site and increasing the sophistication of what's offered.

Can't promise anything, but I think you should begin to see improvements shortly.

Also wanted to report, to those who find it interesting, that the Certified Specialist of Spirits program is going gangbusters! Just completed a marvellous two-day presentation in Vancouver BC with some of the top professionals in the city attending. We had a capacity crowd of 51 people---and now they're already talking about doing another session in a few months, and the other provinces are looking at doing an intensive as well.

And the CSS program rekindled interest in the CSW program, so we're hoping to do a review of that as well.

Looking like the SWE is going to be very active in Canada for the next couple of years!

Just got the latest ed. of the SWE Chronicle. And I'm wondering... if/when will the SWE get on the Wine 2.0 bandwagon & get more interactive via the web?

Update: Just concluded the first two CSS Spirits Intensives in Portland OR and Seattle WA. Around 25 people in each.

Makes for an intensive day, what with covering basic fermentation and distillation techniques and processes, then all seven of the major spirits groups, whilst tasting 56 different spirits by category.

The results so far, and comments and feedback, are all extremely positive to enthusiastic. One state broker mandated that all his salespeople would have the CSS post-nominal!

From our point of view, we've demonstrated that we can put together an effective "compacted" version of the training---a necessity in this day and age where it's almost impossible to get people to commit to more than one day of training apart from their busy professional lives.

One of my desires and intents, both with the CSS and the CSW, is to build enough of a cadre of good instructors around the country offering the CSS and CSW Study Guide Reviews to be impactful.

Most of these would not be one day courses, but multiple sessions courses, I hope. That way the student can really delve down deeply into each category. But for now, the one-day jams are working quite nicely.

If anyone out there can get twenty or more people that are interested in putting on their own Spirits Intensive in support of the CSS, I'd be more than happy to do everything I can to make that happen. And it would be (probably) at no extra charge, outside of the cost of signing up for the CSS program initially.

(Pretty good deal for professional third party educational certification, huh?)

You get a group together, and I'll commit to getting the Intensive to your doorstep.

High volume is mandatory, but we have an order for a smaller exploratory shipment. If you have a slate of bottles that you think would work well, please contact me if your wineries want to take part. Looking for low end and high end bottles. State-side or abroad. I would be happy to answer any questions via…

Looking to buy cheap wine for China

Hello!

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.
