Personally I would prefer such extras after the conference. I'm thinking of staying on a couple of days and would like to get out and about into the country and visit a few vineyards etc.

Wine Judges Reliability

I don't subscribe but the latest issue of the Journal of Wine Economics (Vol. 3, No. 2) just released( has a worrying report, worrying for both the integrity of wine judges and for the drinker who relies on such expertise -

The lead article is by Robert T. Hodgson, who analyzes the reliability of wine judges at a major California Wine Fair. “Each panel of four expert judges received a flight of 30… Continue

Recent Twitter Wine Tasting - some thoughts

These have probably been considered by everyone else but having not seen them recorded elsewhere I thought I would go ahead and post.

The recent Twitter Hugel wine tasting was much fun (Alsace food AND wine!) but is twitter the best platform for such a worldwide event?

Hi Andrew
Just started a blog last month for Bella Wines. We are based in the South of France, however I zoom back to England far too often to flog grog to mainly independent merchants. We work with good producers in Languedoc Roussillon, Bordeaux, South Africa and Australia. If you get a moment have a look at or

This would be the perfect forum for another Chateau Petrogasm contest like the one you started in June!

China Market

Our company is opening channels into China for exporting wine. We are able to tap an unique market for distribution but also delving into the regular market. High volume is mandatory, but we have an order for a smaller exploratory shipment. If you have a slate of bottles that you think would work well, please contact me if your wineries want to take part. Looking to buy cheap wine for China

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.

If anyone with bottled and labeled wine in this price range and is interested in exporting to China don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if you just have general questions,…
