Having tasted several 1995 red burgs last night I'm finally seeing the hard tannins melt away, leaving a more balanced wine. I'm happy. Also, a 1996 Meursault Genevrieres (Jobard) was all burnt matches the day we opened it but the next day was grand vin.

Parker on 2008 bordeauxHis notes are starting to come in...It looks like a very good vintage for Pomerol/St Emilion. See more at Thunevin's blog...

Groslay 200928-29 March were the dates for this year's Groslay tasting. This tasting, in a forgotten town north of Paris invites a couple dozen of organic, small-production, and sometimes avant-garde winemakers. After my visiit to the Vigneron independant (cattle car )tasting in Paris on Friday, this was an intimate affaire. Picnic tables out back welcomed visitors to enjoy the andouille

Big news from the Italians:It seems that 2 glasses of red wine a day increases the libido in women. Forgetting the obvious male chauvanistic undertone of this study, one also has to wonder if one has to live in Chianti to feel the effects???Wine and sex

Veyrat gives up his 3 stars....Big news??Simonsays

Hi Brian,

I saw that you are from Boston. I currently live in Boston and work for a small distributor called Baystate Wine Co. We do some of our own importing as well. Your company looks really interesting and it seems that you have found a unique niche in the wine industry. Am I correct in thinking that you work for the producers...rather than consumers, etc?

I also noticed that you went to Colby College, I went to Colgate University and have a lot of friends that went to Colby...small world.

Hi Brian, I've just added your blog to our Wine Blog Search at Since you're in Europe, working with wine and marketing maybe we should talk. I love your "small production, independent wineries" approach.

China Market

Our company is opening channels into China for exporting wine. We are able to tap an unique market for distribution but also delving into the regular market. High volume is mandatory, but we have an order for a smaller exploratory shipment. If you have a slate of bottles that you think would work well, please contact me if your wineries want to take part. Looking for low end and high end bottles. State-side or abroad. I would be happy to answer any questions via…

Looking to buy cheap wine for China

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.

We are currently looking for any Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot wines that fall in the $1-4/bottle price range for a client that wants 1 small order and one much larger bulk order.

If anyone with bottled and labeled wine in this price range and is interested in exporting to China don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if you just have general questions,…
