FohBoh 3.0 Releases December 1, 2010

Dear FohBoh Community Member:

When FohBoh was founded in late 2007, the social web was new and FohBoh was the first of its kind online community devoted to professionals in the foodservice industry. In three short years we have grown to more than 40,000 members; by far the largest interactive community of its kind in the world. YOU, our members, influence greater than 160,000 restaurants and our content, YOUR voice, now reaches industry professionals in more than 183 countries. As the social web has evolved to be more a part of our normal personal and professional lives, FohBoh has itself evolved to a place of commerce and services to our members and the promise of more to come. We believe that by evolving we add value to our community and better serve the enormous economic engine that it represents.

FohBoh is now the leader in an entirely new category, Foodservice Social Media. Members of our interactive Communities of Practice have become the new innovative forces, the new "Product Managers" for the New Foodservice industry. YOU define the services and technologies needed to best serve your customers. To keep up with YOUR creativity and business needs, we are pleased to be offering increasing value and access to best-in-class social web technologies, product solutions, news, information and greater depth of relevant content, context, and resources to our members.

In connection with this, we begin our fourth year with a re-launch not only of our website but of FohBoh itself – we call it FohBoh 3.0. FohBoh 3.0 includes a new site design delivering more to the largest foodservice industry community and deepest repository of peer-to-peer industry knowledge. The new site design starts with a new homepage with three initial sections designed to significantly improve our social web functionality and your experience. These three areas are your new site navigation. Choose (1) Community, (2) Social-Business Marketplace or (3) Social Media Toolbox.

Social-Business Communities
From the new FohBoh homepage, choose from one of three Foodservice industry communities; (1) The Restaurant Community (2) The Chef Community; or (3) The Wine Community. Use your current username and password to visit and participate at any of these three communities. Your "Home" community will store your profile. When visiting other Foodservice communities, just take a minute to add a profile relevant to one of the sister communities. Nothing has changed at the community level and your profile and content are secure.

Social-Business Marketplace
Branded Manufacturers said they needed an online place to connect, communicate and interact to better deliver product knowledge, ideas and resources to restaurant operators in a more profound and meaningful way. Welcome to FohBoh Brand Central, the interactive online Social-Business marketplace to optimize your relationships with branded food and beverage manufacturers. A virtual environment to conduct business. Using the social web, the possibilities are endless. This is just the start.

Social Business Toolbox
To compete in real-time today, operators need continuous access to customers. So, we developed FOHBuzz, a powerful listening software engine to connect you with your customers while monitoring the conversations taking place on social media sites globally. Some very important rules are highlighted there. Here is a short excerpt:

* Keep all arguments courteous and avoid personal attacks.
* Forum moderators reserve the right to remove any post at their discretion. If the abuse is habitual we can also disable or ban any user from the network at our discretion.

It is rare that people are banned, but it does happen occasionally, mostly for "spammy activities" such as announcing dating sites on others' comment pages.
