- About my company:
Schalkenbosch Estate is made up of four neighbouring farms, Schalkenbosch, Edenhof, Sagtevlei and Delta which cover an area of approximately 2500 hectares. The farming operations include a racehorse stud, cattle, orchards of apricots and prunes, fields of wheat and barley and the vineyards on Schalkenbosch itself. Quality wine is produced in the modern cellar behind the main homestead and is mostly exported to the German and Swedish markets.
Edenhof Wines were produced essentially for the European market. They are made in an easily accessible, “new world style” which makes them suitable for early drinking, although they will improve with appropriate storage and ageing.
Isis Wines, a range in liter bottles, are also produced for the European market. They are easy drinking, “quaffing” wines for everyday, uncomplicated consumption at parties and braais/BBQ’s. The Rose has proven extremely popular and we struggle to keep up with demand for these light and lively wines.
The Schalkenbosch label is reserved for classic wines of exceptional quality. These wines, taken from specially selected blocks are investment wines and should be stored under controlled conditions. The first two wines of this range will be released in 2009.
