Traditional Dão Portuguese producer.
At Quinta da Boavista, our 7ha, just produce 15.000/17.000 bottles; more or less 2 ton/ha, that’s why they really are very concentrated, fine, elegant with a great “terroir” character and a great earth character.
Each year is a different harvest, and this difference it’s much more accentuated in cool climates, something that is also very interesting for me. We never repeat a wine. They have there own character, but always with a straight line between harvests.

Someone who really loves what is doing. I love my “Terroir” and his wines.
Each time more, my new wines, because, both vineyards and I, are more defined. Each year, my wines are fresher, intense and more elegant. Everything, what I want.
I live in the countryside, at Quinta da Boavista Estate, and I have a 100% participation in all stages of production of my wine, from the grapes to marketing.
Dear Joao, greetings to you and please do accept my sincere apologies for not answering earlier. There have been many obstacles to be faced in the last 5 months.

Thank you for your message.
I have excellent memories of Dao wine as it is one of the first wines I liked when I started appreciating wines in the early 80s. I would be interested in looking at importing your wine into Hong Kong/Asia. I am also opening a wine shop in early December in Kowloon.

Thanks for the comment. Your estate looks amazing. I did travel briefly in Portugal and loved the wines of Duoro and Dao that I was exposed to by passionate shop owners and sommeliers there. Also a couple from Alentejo(?) The Portuguese wine trade group does a great job of promoting the wines in the country (at the tasting rooms) and abroad (I get their newsletter), but on the whole, we don't get as many Portuguese wines here in the US. Though I've heard there's a Portuguese community nearby in Newark, NJ that is supposed to be a good source for wines not typically found in wider circulation.
I would love to make it to the Dao region someday. You're very fortunate!
Dear Mr. João Malheiro Tavares de Pina,

Thanks for the commentary..yeah i do think that Portugal has a lot of interesting wines to offer unfortunately here in Malaysia, it is very difficult to buy one..let alone to get a hand on even 1 bottle..in the meantime do keep in touch..maybe in the future we can strike a deal
Hello Mr. João Malheiro Tavares de Pina,
Thank you for your message, beautiful views in the You Tube!
I like both Douro's and Dao's wines and others from Portugal,it may seems I like old classic wines than modern one.
Douro is rather good in the firm and ripe tannin, very silky and a warm hearted filling.
While Dao,as said the temperate climate, granite acidity soil,I found them more flowery, savour acid back bone, hints violet, leaves aroma.Very good and appetising wines for early drink and ageing.
So many regions are seeking to produce fruit upfront and driven wines for market,This is a trend, this is for business as well.I think Portugal is the last place for paradise the classic and native grape wines!!

Our company is opening channels into China for exporting wine. We are able to tap an unique market for distribution but also delving into the regular market. High volume is mandatory, but we have an order for a smaller exploratory shipment. If you have a slate of bottles that you think would work well, please contact me if your wineries want to take part. Looking for low end and high end bottles. State-side or abroad. I would be happy to answer any questions via…
