"It's very difficult to reach many wineries because they frequently do not have a coherent marketing plan, and in many cases really don't care. Yes, they all say they want to increase sales, want more club members, but in reality, what they…"

Tom, the Morrell connection is 100% of the reason I work for eWinery, since I worked for Ron back in NY. I moved to California before Ron made the trek west, but we kept in touch.

As far as Wine Syndication, I always felt it had great potential but it never lived up to it. It relied too much on the owners of the component websites to do their own marketing and most were totally unaware of the complexities of selling wine across state lines (or selling wine generally). Advice to them frequently fell on deaf ears.

I don't know why NVL could not make money from this program, though obviously if the wines didn't sell, they would not make money. NVL, as you are probably aware, has its own set of bloated systems it operates.

At any rate, I do come up to Napa twice a week and would love to meet you and talk more about this and other aspects of the wine business.

Larry,

Just perused your online resumé. Noted your Morrell connection which explains, in part, the Ron/eWinery connection.

I was a big fan of wine syndication and was surprised that it cratered. Being able to consolidate wines from different producers is a major advantage, IMO, over the companies, like American Wineries and Appellation America, that rely on the each winery to ship.

Would be most interested to get your take on the rise and fall of this program (was told by the new Sales and Marketing Director of NVL that New Vine could never make money on the system even though third party entities purchased the wine at FOB).

Are you up in Napa from time to time visiting the mother ship? I'm very nearby.

Cordially

What's interesting is that I had already signed up a while ago. I saw my picture up there, but just altered my profile and then was told thanks for signing up. It is possible I had made an error and signed up again, but then where would my picture have come from?

China Market

Our company is opening channels into China for exporting wine. We are able to tap an unique market for distribution but also delving into the regular market. High volume is mandatory, but we have an order for a smaller exploratory shipment. If you have a slate of bottles that you think would work well, please contact me if your wineries want to take part. Looking for low end and high end bottles. State-side or abroad. I would be happy to answer any questions via…

Looking to buy cheap wine for China

Hello!

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.

We are currently looking for any Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot wines that fall in the $1-4/bottle price range for a client that wants 1 small order and one much larger bulk order.

If anyone with bottled and labeled wine in this price range and is interested in exporting to China don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if you just have general questions,…
