Millennials Will Spend the Money - Just Give Us A Reason

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is “Will Millennials spend the money on a $50 bottle of wine?” Ok, sometimes the price changes, but I’d have to say I answer this at least 2-3 times a week. The answer is YES, WE WILL. But in order to spend more money than we normally do on wine (or ANYTHING) there must be a reason for doing so.This spring, I compiled the data from a survey I conducted online – some of the results from that survey I included in my May 5th post, Where Millennials…See More

Reaching Millennials - DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE

In keeping up with blogs, research, and ideally all things Millennial, I generally tend to come across well-intentioned but TERRIBLE advice. The latest was on a staffing company’s website encouraging human resource departments to create new, Millennial-friendly corporate handbooks. A fine idea for corporations, but incredibly flawed in execution – which is why I’m pointing out an alternate solution that everyone can use.To keep things short(ish) and sweet, I’ve decided to summarize below…See More

How Millennials View YOU, Wine Industry

Everybody’s attempting to do the brand new dance now – it’s called TRY AND REACH OUT TO MILLENNIAL CONSUMERS. Well, what do Millennials think of all this? Granted, there aren’t nearly enough people attempting, but let’s look at the landscape. It looks a lot like the dancefloor at the last wedding you went to. Now, not everyone is out on the floor – it takes a certain amount of courage to get out there. Of the people out on the floor, you observe a few different types. First off, there’s the…See More

About Me:
I am a 20-something and (like many of my friends) I love wine. When I was laid off from my job at a big Hollywood talent agency, I decided to take the leap and live my dream of working in the wine industry. As I continue to learn about wine, I'm teaching others why this age group is crucial to the wine industry in the U.S. as well as how to reach out to them as consumers.

This is also the topic of my blog, The Millennier: Wine + Millennials

Aside from wine, my other passion is music and I will talk your ear off about indie bands or the Silverlake music scene if you let me.

In a short and sweet post about the increasingly big deal being made about wine companies… Continue

Hi Leah, thanks for including me in your friend's list. I see you're a wine broker. Am an importer and distributor on Puerto Rico and I specialize in representing small to medium wineries to distribute direct to consumer. Soon starting on-trade and off-trade again. When you get a chance can you send me your catalog? Email is javi@jortizimports.com

Hi, Leah,

Yes, I definitely "get" the Millennial generation, and completely enjoy their exuberance in all that they do. At one point in my life, I was teaching 19 year olds. At another point in my life, I was a Girl Scout Day Camp director for kids (I say "kids" because I allowed my leaders to bring ALL of their children to camp with them, from babies on up, boys and girls. I had a unit for all ages and genders). I've raised a lot of children, not necessarily all of my own. I love what the new generations are bringing to the world. I get them all, because I've been raising children since 1971 (not my millennial, of course).

Cheers,

Our company is opening channels into China for exporting wine. We are able to tap an unique market for distribution but also delving into the regular market. Looking to buy cheap wine for China

Hello!

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.

We are currently looking for any Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot wines that fall in the $1-4/bottle price range for a client that wants 1 small order and one much larger bulk order.

If anyone with bottled and labeled wine in this price range and is interested in exporting to China don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if you just have general questions,…
