- About Me:
- On my mother's side (Folsom, Foulsham) our family traces back to John de Foulsham, prior of Norwich Monastery who died in 1348, Sir Ernald de Foulsham, a knight who fought with William of Normandy and to Roger de Foulsham.
Once immigrating to America in 1638 The name Foulsham was changed to Folsom with John Folsom and his wife Mary Gilman (also called Marie Gylman) and thus, it is believed, descend all Folsoms in America, myself included. Marie Gilman's sister married an ancestor of Abraham Lincoln who arrived in America on the same ship, the 'Diligent' of Ipswich. US President Grover Cleveland held the first marriage ever in the White House when he married my grandfather's cousin Frances Folsom.
Nathaniel Folsom (son of John Folsom) later married a Princess of the Choctaw Nation named Ay-Ne-Chi-Hoyo who descended from generations of Chiefs of that nation from times before the white man's occupation of their lands. Ay-Ne-Chi-Hoyo was my great great great grandmother; therefore I am a current member of the Choctaw nation, vote in tribal elections and hold all rights within the Choctaw tribe and in the United States Government as a tribal member.
On my father's side much less is known, but my father's first cousin is Bob Schieffer, CBS News Washington Bureau Chief and moderator of Meet the Press, a weekly news program. His brother Tom, also my cousin, was US Ambassador to Australia 2000-2004, US Ambassador to Japan 2004-2008 and is currently considering a run for Governor of Texas.
As for myself, I was first exhibited at the age of eleven at Laguna Gloria Art Museum in Austin, Texas, now Austin Museum of Art. In 1981 my very dear friend Countess Caja Palffy arranged for my apprenticeship in Brussels, Belgium to Monsieur A. Schollaert, portrait painter to King Leopold III and to King Baudouin, of Belgium. I later studied under Dr. Gabrielle Yablonsky, former artist-in-residence to the King of Bhutan, at the University of Texas. I have lived in Los Angeles, New York and Brussels but now live in my home city of Austin. Now I paint portraits, design interiors for both residential and commercial properties and am starting a new business, a chain of Michael's Gourmet Grilled Cheese shops.

Looking to buy cheap wine for China
