Profile Information

About my company:
My vineyard is only 0.4 ha and was re-planted in 2004. I had my first real harvest last year but I've been experimenting and learning since 2002. I'm not an oenologist or a professional grape grower so every year that goes by takes me one step forward.
I’m trying to make a wine that speaks about me, the vineyard and Portuguese grape varieties, by using the traditional open vat ("Lagar") fermentation with manual cap submersion and refusing the use of any enzymes, selected yeast or bacteria.
I’m sure I’ll make a great Bairrada wine but for now it’s just a hobby... ;)
How would you classify yourself in the wine trade?

Hi Milton,
Beside selling Gaillac wines, I also have a small vineyard and I produce some white, rose and red wine. For me also a dream come true, and I'm learning every year.
Cheers, Carlo

Hi Milton! ... It is said winemakers aren't what makes wine. Wine makes itself from the vineyard. All we are, ... are wine-watchers. It comes down to trying to find out what each wine should be. If you can figure out what this vineyard or what this grape wants you to do with it, you can make a great wine out of any variety. ... You will then know the wine ... because you will feel it! :-)

Hi Milton! ... Very nice to get an insiders' "look-see" at your wine-making skills, ... along with your hopes and your concerns involved in this enterprise! ... So much passion ... with the danger of much heartache - not enough sun ... and the possibility of too much rain in the vineyard !! ... In the end, I hope you'll be able to say what Michelangelo once said: " I feast on wine and bread, and feasts they are." :)

Thanks for your note, Milton. Will definitely have a proper look at your blog. I'm always intrigued to hear about vine-growing and wine-making at the coal-face, so to speak. Cheers, Edward

Great to meet you, Milton! Very impressed by your forays into viticulture and wine-making. Very brave! I spend a lot of time teaching about the life of the vine and vinification processes; but it's a bit odd not actually doing it!

China Market

Our company is opening channels into China for exporting wine. We are able to tap an unique market for distribution but also delving into the regular market. High volume is mandatory, but we have an order for a smaller exploratory shipment. If you have a slate of bottles that you think would work well, please contact me if your wineries want to take part. Looking for low end and high end bottles. State-side or abroad. I would be happy to answer any questions via…

Looking to buy cheap wine for China

Hello!

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.

We are currently looking for any Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot wines that fall in the $1-4/bottle price range for a client that wants 1 small order and one much larger bulk order.

If anyone with bottled and labeled wine in this price range and is interested in exporting to China don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if you just have general questions,…
