Penelope, someday soon I'd love to try your wines! This Thursday, for instance, I'm trying a few Tempranillos (along with Syrahs) from Southern Oregon and Walla Walla with a group of local wine buffs here in Denver. Unrelated (but related) to this, I have a detailed report on domestic Albarino on my personal page, http://www.randycaparoso.blogspot.com.

My interest in the grape as grown in the U.S. has been perked up in recent years. The most interesting one I had recently was an '06 St. Amant from Amador, which had true beefy, brothy varietal qualities meshed with ripe, dried plum intensities -- was simply stunning with a simple Yankee pot roast.

The music? I'm thinking that your page template should have come with a "Add Music" bar in the left hand column of your home page. If not, perhaps if you change your page template it might pop up automatically for you. It did for me, and so I just threw in the sounds.

I know it's a busy time of year for you (hope it's going well), but let's talk more, okay?

Best!

Just harvested 10 tons on Monday. Let it sit for two days and let nature do its work. Inoculated with VRB yesterday. Smells wonderful so i have high hopes.

Hi Penelope
Thanks for your note. It was just an inquiry as US Tempranillo sounds quite novel. I would definitely try and sell local (and loyal) before the big international adventure. I distribute Aus/SA/Bdx and Southern French wines in the UK and Ireland. Some producers have unrealistic expectations of the UK market. But if you have a specific point of difference (like your set up) and you tread carefully...and you are patient...then you can succeed. I'll keep reading your blog. I am very new to blogs, so any advice on http://bellawines.blogspot.com/ would be massively appreciated! Good luck with harvest.

Hello Penny. Looks like an interesting set up with focus on Tempranillo. Good luck with harvest this year. Are your wines available in England or France?
Cheers

Penny,
Still haven't discussed Tempranillo yet. I will probably harvest about 24.5-25.5. Will use VRB yeast from Scott Labs. I am thinking 6 mos. 50% new oak (french-american hybrid). Whattaya think?
