Tim Elliot's Social Media for Wineries Summary

I pondered for a while about how best to start this blog post...

"Tim Elliot, grandmaster of Wine 2.0 and godfather of wine podcasting, held what I refer to as the 'Sermon on the Mount' for wineries learning to embrace social media..."

Nah, too religious. Some folks might not get the reference or (worse) might read too much into the reference.

"Tim Elliot's social media seminars in Napa and Healdsburg were awesome!"

Too obvious, and probably… Continue

Promoting the OWC

So, today I had the pleasure of interviewing Joel Vincent, (blogger and founder of OpenWineConsortium) on today's Wine Biz Radio (which I'm awaiting the radio station to release the recording so I can podcast it for all you lovely listeners out there). Joel was articulate and driven, which made it clear to me why he's leading the charge for the OWC and getting the word out.

My poor buddy Kaz (who is the long-time co-host of the show, unlike me) is being dragged kicking and screaming… Continue

The intersection of technology and winery operations...

When the time comes to put together what someone would call a modern, state-of-the-art winery, why is it that paper is still the method of choice to capture operational measurements (that is, the data always associated with winemaking)? From notes jotted down about the ripeness of fruit on vineyards you contract with, or the actual tonnage received from a grower, to which tanks are getting what fruit and/or juice, to which barrels are storing what wine under which barrel program. The amount of… Continue

Hi Randy, Well it was about time you saw my profile on your site. Not quite a vineyard owner yet. Just putting together our business plan. Other issues to worry about such as a water moritorium in the county and deciding what types of grapes to grow. I think Zin's are a little over done. I wish Markham Wineries would have continued making their muscats but they stop doing that a few years ago. I did manage to purchase the second to the last case of muscat back then. I should have bought both. Miss that wine. You should try out the wines around here. There are some pretty awsome places here. I've been working over in Santa Rosa these days. Working for Sutter Health. Training Doctors. I'll have to stop by sometime. Regards to Jen and the kids.

China Market

Our company is opening channels into China for exporting wine. We are able to tap an unique market for distribution but also delving into the regular market. High volume is mandatory, but we have an order for a smaller exploratory shipment. If you have a slate of bottles that you think would work well, please contact me if your wineries want to take part. Looking for low end and high end bottles. State-side or abroad. I would be happy to answer any questions via…

Looking to buy cheap wine for China

Hello!

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.

We are currently looking for any Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot wines that fall in the $1-4/bottle price range for a client that wants 1 small order and one much larger bulk order.

If anyone with bottled and labeled wine in this price range and is interested in exporting to China don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if you just have general questions,…
