Robert McIntosh's Blog

Wine, Blogs, Conferences, Profile - Give me Juice!

Many of us here are involved in one way or another with the promotion of blogs, and web2.0 ventures in the wine industry, and for this reason the OWC is also key to the success of the two Wine Bloggers' Conferences about to happen, in the USA and in Europe.

dhonig started a discussion which I think is entirely appropriate for the OWC, about… Continue

Site Reviews - Pay it Forward

Many moons ago, a few of the earliest members of the OWC thought it would be a good idea to support others by getting together to review new, important, redesigned or quirky Wine 2.0 sites. It was a form of "pay it forward" that meant we could help others and hopefully benefit from reviews, or discussions, ourselves.

Our first attempt (when there were around 25% of today's membership) was… Continue

Wine Culture and Share of Mind

I'm not quite clear who sees these blog updates, but several discussions on this site encouraged me to complete a post I had started thinking about ages ago, so hopefully it will be of interest to some of you here who do not read my blog

I've posted some thoughts and some photos on the bloggers dinner that Bodegas Tintoralba, Wine Meeting Point and Catavino helped to put together in Alimentaria this week. I thought some here might like to take a look.

Robert: Everything is crystaI clear now. Thank you!
I knew that you are one of the admins of this site. That's why I asked if you had any complaints about my invitations. I did it "publicly" because I think it would be nice to hear from more people if "the fact that people you have contacted are either excited or are being merely polite in their responses" is a real issue or not. We could even have a forum about it... what do you think?
In the meantime I'll join the wine blogger's group.
Best,
LA

Dear Robert,
Thanks for the suggestion (or is it more than a suggestion?)
However, I would recommend that you take a look at my page to see that all the replies that I'm receiving are VERY positive. What it means is that your view of what I'm doing as "a little too like spamming" may not be accurate (at least in the view of the people who I contacted)
As a matter of fact, this is the first complaint that I hear since I started sending my invitations... Have you had any compliants about what I'm doing or "PLEASE can you stop leaving the same message all over the place" reflects only your personal opinion?
I understand what you are trying to say, but no matter how hard people try to convince you these days, perception is not reality.
Just for you to understand, my goal is to share my passion for wine as much as I can. I don't know if it's relevant or not, but the fact is that I don't even make money with my website. It is pure love my friend...
I would love to hear back from you.
Best,
LA

Looking to buy cheap wine for China

Hello!

My company is based out of California and specializes in exporting and distributing wine to China.

We are currently looking for any Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot wines that fall in the $1-4/bottle price range for a client that wants 1 small order and one much larger bulk order.

If anyone with bottled and labeled wine in this price range and is interested in exporting to China don't hesitate to contact me. Also, if you just have general questions,…
