Wine and me : A version of how this magic happened in my life

On a table next to me there was a couple with a frind of mine and a stunning woman.

When leaving, I greeted the table, and the woman who seemed to have emerged from a dream, smiled.

In the car, driving back home, I could not concentrate in the Batman series of the 70s and sleeps with my head on a pillow just like resting in her breasts.

Next day,I called to my fried and asked who was that woman. She is married, said the friend, and very well married, don´t waste time. And why was she alone? I asked. Because we had gone to a wine tasting of wines from which she and her husband did not attended because he hate wine.

Never drunk wine so serious before, so signed up for the next week wine taste at the same place where she used to go.

Day of tasting, full lounge, timidly sat on the edge and stayed in the bush. She arrived, sat up on the first row of chairs. After tasting all the talk about their perceptions and she gave a show, detailing flavors, colors, brightness, taste, developments. Everyone heard delighted. I thanked God for the leader of the tasting be a snobbish that not ask me anything.

Next week, I signed up again. I bought books on wine in Spanish, English, French. Visited Parker´s website, read Wine Spectator, Decanter and decorate a number of wine datasheets.

On the day of tasting, I arrived early and sat in the first row, discreetly and three chairs away from her. She came and took his place .

When the supervisor asked me about tasting the wine, I said .. no ... no, I declaimed flavorings decorated of all books and websites, but did not call the attention or even a look from her.

On the day of tasting sat me just a chair away from her. When the notes were read ... I had just settled all wines. She had only one wrong. Finally people were aware of my existence and the supervisor asked me to describe tasting the wines.

Described one by one explaining that although all were from Shiraz grapes, were very different, the product orientation to the south. The Southwest Hermitage, Cote-Roti South East, Croze-Hermitage to the West and Saint Joseph, less than two hours sunshine per day in the east. In the next tasting, go one more chair. She sat beside me and smiled, I always faithful to my plan, nice smile, commenting on some wines but didn´t said my name and also didn´t asked her name.

And so we continue for long. When sitting together, exchanging only smiles and talking about wine. Nothing more, nothing less. Nothing to suggest a date. Once she touched my arm but was all.

Months later, there was a tasting of Spain and the star of the evening was the legendary Vega-Sicilia.

She arrived, sat up beside me and spoke poignantly:

"You do not fool me, following me since we saw in that restaurant. Never interested in wine. You come to these tastings for me. The fire of passion burns in your eyes and it must have an end, can not continue, it is insane. And changing the tone of voice to a whisper warm: I want you, now and now, let´s leave. "
