The Wine Conversation
How would you classify yourself in the wine trade?
Services, Blogger
Where are you located?
London, UK
About my company:
I work in the wine business, representing some wineries from Rioja in the UK & Ireland. My blog is a purely personal one which I use to get my thoughts straight on topics about wine and not to share tasting notes or rate wines.
What you want to get from participating in OWC?
Networking with fellow wine bloggers to improve the quality and perception of wine blogs in the trade and with consumers. Looking for opportunities to develop new ideas and for partners to put some of my own ones into practice. Looking for great topics to explore on my own site and start a conversation with others doing the same.... oh and meet some cool new people.
About Me:
Father of two working from home and looking for the social interaction I lost when I abandoned office life. I live in South East London and travel regularly to Spain. I grew up travelling around the world and speak Spanish, Italian, French and have even dabbled with German and Bulgarian!

Wine, Blogs, Conferences, Profile - Give me Juice!

Many of us here are involved in one way or another with the promotion of blogs, and web2.0 ventures in the wine industry, and for this reason the OWC is also key to the success of the two Wine Bloggers' Conferences about to happen, in the USA and in Europe. dhonig started a discussion which I think is entirely appropriate for the OWC, about increasing the li… Continue

Site Reviews - Pay it Forward

Many moons ago, a few of the earliest members of the OWC thought it would be a good idea to support others by getting together to review new, important, redesigned or quirky Wine 2.0 sites. It was a form of "pay it forward" that meant we could help others and hopefully benefit from reviews, or discussions, ourselves. Our first attempt (when there were around 25% of today's membership) was reasonable, but… Continue

Wine Culture and Share of Mind

I'm not quite clear who sees these blog updates, but several discussions on this site encouraged me to complete a post I had started thinking about ages ago, so hopefully it will be of interest to some of you here who do not read my blog i.e. most of you :) Are you Drinking or Thinking? More thinking about drinking

Bloggers Dinner in Barcelona

I've posted some thoughts and some photos on the bloggers dinner that Bodegas Tintoralba, Wine Meeting Point and Catavino helped to put together in Alimentaria this week. I thought some here might like to take a look. Another development in part thanks to the OWC - much… Continue

Our first chance to put the collaborative element of the OWC into practice is now live! The discussion is in the Monthly Site Review Forum The mission of this network is not just to be a place to hang out with each other, but to push the message of technology serving the wine consumer and wine industry. I hope that you will find the time to check out the current site looking for our… Continue

Hello, Robert

The move went well - a little exhausting and disturbing as far as work is concerned! But things are more or less back to normal!

Thanks for the link. I really enjoyed Tom's nice comments on my book! It's great!

Hi Robert! Thanks a lot for your comment. We are a young company here in China, but you're quite right it is an exciting environment and we are in this for the long haul.... Hopefully, in the future, the Chinese wine market(s) will be less of a Wild West and much more on the map: like Japan, Singapore, Taiwan etc. Do stay in touch! Cheers, Edward

I am moving back to the states on July 1, so the Irish wine blogger list will be going down by one and the US will be gaining another wine blogger.

Hey Robert, thanks for the welcome. I'm pretty bad about keeping up with these sorts of things, but I'll try my best. You'd think we'were in England with the weather we are having here, I'm spending most of my time in the vineyards right now, in between the down pours, that is! Organic agriculture is tricky when it rains so much, I really have a new understanding for the poor Burgundians!
